Scarlett Johansson will reportedly play the lead role in the upcoming series adaptation of John Katzenbach’s 1992 thriller novel Just Cause. Apart from acting in the series, she will also serve as the executive producer, the actor will be making her television debut with the series. Produced by Johansson’s own banner These Pictures and Warner Bros. TV, the series has been picked up by Amazon Prime Video.

Scarlett Johansson will be playing a gender-swapped version of the protagonist in the book who is the editorial writer of the Miami Newspaper. The actor had earlier appeared in Warner Bros’ 1995 adaptation of the same book when she was just ten years old. She played the daughter of the main character played by Sean Connery.

Scarlett Johansson is currently filming her portions for the Apple Studios film Artemis which stars Channing Tatum in the lead. Johansson is producing the film under her banner These Pictures. The limited series is created by Christy Hall who is known for writing episodes of the television series I Am Not Okay With This. Hall's directorial venture Daddio is currently in the post-production stages.
