Warner Bros CEO David Zaslav reveals plans for DC films

In a recent interview, Warner Bros CEO David Zaslav opened up about his plans for DC-related projects in the future. He recently brought on board director James Gunn along with producer Peter Safran as the head of DC content.

James Gunn, who recently directed the DC film The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros, will reportedly handle the creative side of things while Peter Safran will handle the production and business end of things. Gunn and Safran are replacing Walter Hamada, who used to be in charge of DC-related projects at Warner Bros. Hamada have not entered a multi-year deal with Paramount Pictures to develop mid to low-budget horror films.

Zaslav is quoted as saying, “So part of our strategy is to drive the hell out of DC, which James and Peter are going to do. I think they’ve thrilled the fans. I think they’re going to thrill you over a period of time.”

Batman has long been the most successful franchise to emerge out of the DC comics. There are currently several films in development with three different iterations of the Batman, including Robert Pattinson, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton’s version set to appear in different films, this led to confusion among the fans. Zaslav has come out saying that, “ there’s not going to be four Batmans.” but according to the CEO, that does not mean that Affleck and Keaton’s versions are going to be dropped.
