CE at The Gray Man premiere - Russo Brothers: We hope to do more work with Dhanush

The Indian premiere of The Gray Man happened earlier today in Mumbai and Cinema Express was present at the event that was attended by the film's directors Anthony Russo and Joseph Russo alongside Dhanush and other celebrities like Jacqueline Fernandez and Vicky Kaushal.

Before the premiere, while addressing the audience, Anthony said, "India is one of the most vibrant places on the planet. There's a great acting talent like Dhanush. Our passion for cinema led us to India." Joe, who spoke next, said, "We have a large team of stunt choreographers we work with. We like to look at what's going on across the world. We try to look for inspiration from filmmakers and performers. We got a few action sequences with Dhanush in the lead. By the third one, we thought we will just ask him to do it. We reached out. We are grateful he accepted to do the film."

The film stars Ryan Gosling and the director duo's frequent collaborator Chris Evans in the lead. Speaking about Evans, with whom they have worked in Marvel films like Avengers: Endgame, Anthony said, "We had the privilege of working with Chris Evans for many years. We got to know about what he's capable of. He entertained us all to think of doing something with him that's so far away from Captain America. His character, Lloyd Hanson, is the opposite, and it's hard to imagine such a contrast. With Dhanush too, we have realised what he can do, and we hope to do more with him in the future. Evans understood the assignment and embraced it. We have also interpreted the villain through a certain form of extremism rampant now in the world."

Also starring Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, Wagner Moura and Julia Butters, The Gray Man, which is based on Mark Greaney's 2009 novel of the same name, is scheduled to stream on Netflix from July 22.
