Captain America-actor Chris Evans is all set to star opposite Black Adam-star Dwayne Johnson in Amazon Studios' upcoming holiday film Red One.
The film is described as a "globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy that imagines a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre." Plot details of the film are currently kept under wraps.
Red One is set to be directed by Jake Kasdan from a screenplay written by Chris Morgan. The project stems from an original story by Hiram Garcia, the President of Production of Seven Bucks Productions, the producers of the film.
Kasdan also produces the film alongside Melvin Mar and Sky Salem Robinson. Morgan also produces under his Chris Morgan Productions. Johnson, Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia produce for Seven Bucks. Red One is slated to begin production later this year.
Notably, Johnson has previously collaborated with Kasdan and Seven Bucks for Sony's Jumanji films, Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level. Evans is best known for starring as Steve Rogers a.k.a Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor will be seen next in the Russo brothers’ film The Gray Man for Netflix. He will also voice the character of Buzz Lightyear in Pixar’s upcoming origin story Lightyear.
Though both Johnson and Evans appeared in Ryan Reynolds-starrer Free Guy, Red One will mark their first collaboration as leads.
