Lily-Rose Depp onboard HBO's The Idol

Lily-Rose Depp, best known for her roles in A Faithful Man and The King, has joined the cast of The Idol as the female lead. The series, which is currently in development at HBO, stars Abel 'The Weeknd' Tesfaye as the lead.

Tesfaye has created the series with Sam Levinson, best known for Euphoria. The show reportedly tells the story of a female singer who gets into a romantic relationship with a club owner in Los Angeles, who has a secret identity as the leader of a secret cult. 

Joseph Epstein of Health and Wellness-fame will be writing and serving as the showrunner of the series. Moreover, Mary Laws, whose writing credits include acclaimed shows like Succession and Preacher, will write and serve as an executive producer. More details related to the project are currently under wraps.

Lily-Rose's other acting credits include Silent Night and Voyagers. She will also be seen in the upcoming Irish-Polish drama film, Wolf.
