The project, backed by Sony Pictures TV and PlayStation Production, will feature Mackie as John Doe, a milkman who has lost the memories of his past. He is offered a chance at a better life if he delivers a secret package across a post-apocalyptic region.
Twisted Metal is based on an original idea by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Michael Jonathan Smith will write and executive produce the series alongside Reese, Wernick, Will Arnett and Marc Forman.
Mackie, who was recently seen in the Amazon Original Solos and Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will next star in Captain America 4 for Marvel Studios.
