Earlier this Thursday, a social media page, named Antony Varghese Fans Club, claimed that there is a deliberate attempt to paint the film in bad light with intentional negative reviews. The page also claimed that the Kattalan reviews hail from the PR team of Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal in the lead role. Notably, Drishyam 3 has grossed over 200 crore from theatres worldwide in seven days of its release and is still running in theatres.

Interestingly, Antony dismissed the post from his so-called fan account.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, the actor wrote, "It has come to my attention that a fake Facebook page posting as my "fan page" is circulating posts and spreading false information. Please note that this page is completely unauthorized and has absolutely no affiliation with me or my actual fan community. They are intentionally spreading fake news to create unnecessary allegations and drama."

The actor added, "Do not believe, share, or engage with anything posted there. Thank you to everyone who brought this to my attention! Stay safe."

On Wednesday, Antony Varghese shared an emotional note explaining what Kattalan means to him. He shared, "This movie is incredibly special because it's made by family. The writers and director are my close friends, and our producer Shareef Muhammed, is truly like a brother to me. We planned to make a movie together a long time ago and it's finally happening. Ever since Angamaly Diaries you all have embraced me as the boy next door. I am still that same guy, and I always want to be. As Kattalan hits theatres tomorrow, I need your prayers blessings and support more than ever. Please do watch it in theatres and stand by me just like you always have!"

The upcoming film is produced by Vinayaka Ajith under his eponymous banner. The producer described it as "a divine tale," offering "an intense blend of emotion, devotion and powerful storytelling." The Harivarasanam title poster features a man carrying a child on his shoulders as they are about to climb the sacred 18 steps at the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple.

Through a press release, the makers revealed that many prominent actors from South India are also part of the Harivarasanam cast. The film is in its pre-production stage right now. The makers are having a Sabarimala set constructed at Chitranjali Studio in Thiruvananthapuram for its shoot. On the technical front, the film has composer Ranjin Raj of Malikappuram fame, cinematographer Sajad Kaakku, editor Ajiesh Edamon, production designer Rakhil, and project designer P Jayachandran.

Beyond Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam, Saiju Kurup also tasted success as part of the ensemble cast for Aadu 3: One Last Ride – Part 1. The third part in the Aadu franchise reportedly grossed more than 100 crore from theatres worldwide. The actor's upcoming films also include Prempaatta, headlined by Joemon Jyothir.
