Riding high on the success of her recent hit Mahanati, Keerthy Suresh will next be seen in Vikram-starrer Saamy Square. The actor has lent her voice to a song for the first time ever for the upcoming Hari directorial. The track called Pudhu Metro Rail, which also has vocals by Vikram, was kept under the wraps by the makers as a surprise. It was played for the first time along with a making video during the audio launch of the film on Monday.

Talking about her singing debut, Keerthy Suresh said, "Producer Shibu Thameens is the reason I've sung in the film. He showed a random video of me singing to Devi Sri Prasad and they both then compelled me to sing the song in the film." Devi Sri Prasad added, "Not everyone can become singers. It's a gift from God. When I saw the video of Keerthy singing for the first time, I spotted within seconds that she had a singer within her as her pitch and tune were flawless. I welcome her to the family of musicians."

The entire crew of Saamy Square, including actors like Vikram, Prabhu, Soori, and Aishwarya Rajesh, and director Hari, were present at the event at which the filmmaker revealed the film's plotline for the first time on stage. "I know many of you would have guessed the story by now with the aid of the memes made from the posters and teaser. The second part is based on the clash between the family of Perumal Pichai and Aarusamy. Even though I've disclosed the one line to you, there will be a lot of action, romance, and thrill elements to keep the audience engaged through the film," he said.

Vikram spoke about the delay between the first and second parts. "I told Hari that I don't want to work on just another film and that I wanted a proper story for the sequel. We planned to launch the project a bit earlier with a different producer, but it didn't materialise due to various reasons. I feel this is the best time for the sequel to be released, as it's been a while since I worked on this genre. Saamy is indeed a special franchise to me, because though my fans like different films of mine, Saamy is the one character that's unanimously loved."

Saamy Square is expected to hit the screens in September.
