RGV’s Bhairava Geetha nears completion

Actors Dhananjay and Irra’s upcoming Telugu-Kannada bilingual, Bhairava Geetha produced jointly by Ram Gopal Varma and Bhaskar is nearing completion. The makers are planning to release the theatrical trailer soon.

Set against a violent class struggle, the film marks the debut of Siddhartha as the director. Sharing the reason behind casting Dhananjay as the protagonist, RGV says, “I saw the rushes of Tagaru and was bowled over by Dhananjay’s unmatched versatility. I felt he would be the ideal choice for Bhairava Geetha and got him  on board.”

As for the debutante, Irra, RGV felt she had the best facial features and that her looks articulate the representation of a traditional Indian girl. “Her presence is a perfect foil for the contrasting violent tone of our film. I saw the rushes and felt both of them lived up to their reputation,” says RGV.

The maverick filmmaker is delighted to be associated with Siddhartha. “Siddhartha was not my assistant but was working with the editing department. His work was always impressive, and so were his technical inputs. When he came up with this story, I was pleased with his style of narration and the way he conceptualised it. At that very moment, I decided to produce this film directed by him,” he adds.
