KGF will be the pride of every Kannadiga: Yash

For Yash, being part of KGF has been a journey of many seasons. With the film's shooting taking almost a year, the actor says that he has experienced every kind of weather in different parts of the state, right from the roasting heat of the Kolar to the rains of Mysuru to the cold weather of Bengaluru and back to shooting in summer.

“We had a tough time during our first schedule, which was shot in Kolar. It was extremely hot, especially between 12 and 3 pm, and got worse with not even a single tree around. The humid wind made it worse. After spending almost a year on this project, I feel like KGF was a journey in itself,” says Yash, who also remembers how this film came at a crucial time, when he was getting married. “It was a time when I had to juggle between shooting and giving time to my family, but I guess I balanced it well. A lot of things happened around this time and I cherished every moment.,” he adds.

Clean-shaven?
Having grown a thick beard for almost a year now, the news of Yash getting rid of it spread like wild fire. But, the actor clears the air and says, “It is all a rumour. I am still sporting the beard look and will only be shaving by the end of the month.”

Directed by Prashanth Neel under Hombale Films, KGF will be released in five languages. Talking about his character Rocky in the film, Yash says, “Rocky is confident and fearless. I share that attitude, which why this role is tailor-made for me,” he says.

According to him, the magnitude of the film is huge and so the makers spent a lot of time on it. “As we started, the expectations and scope grew. We realised we were making something big. After a year, I am confident, this film will be a symbol of our pride, the pride of every Kannadiga. KGF is an identity in itself. There was no compromise and a lot of dates were sacrificed to get everything just right,” he asserts.

Currently shooting for the song sequences, Yash has just 10 days of work left on the film. After he completes his portions, the team might take another week for some stock shots before they wrap up. The film’s post-production work is going on in parallel, and according to the actor, everything is going according to plan.

Yash also has a message to all his fans about KGF. “Just wait in patience, and you will be in for a big treat,’’ he says.

The film has music by Ravi Basrur and cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda.
