Mr. Perfect: Riddled with flaws

Mr. Perfect: Riddled with flaws

This film is far from perfect and makes for quite a dull show

Girls are believed to be always hunting for a perfect companion, only to find that there is no one without flaws. Director Rameshbabu, through his latest flick Mr Perfect, attempts to convey that girls should not judge their chosen ones and instead be content with their strength.

The film can be summed up in one line: Anup (Anup Sa Ra Govindu) sleepwalks and it turns out to be a blessing in disguise for Sreeja (Shalini).

Cast: Anup Sa Ra Govindu, Shalini, Bullet Prakasam Pavan
Director: Rameshbabu

Mr Perfect starts with Anup fighting off goondas to save the heroine. Sreeja, who discovers goodness in him, falls quickly in love with the hero. His marriage proposal is accepted by Sreeja’s family and all is well, till a ‘snake’ enters their garden of Eden. A promise made by Anup to Sreeja leads to an untoward incident, when the hero meets the heroine’s father and it nearly ends the engagement. An upset Sreeja attempts suicide. Will Anup save her and win Sreeja’s heart and how he manages to convince her father is the central plot.

Sadly, the film does not live up to its title and is riddled with flaws. The director has shot a film with a sloppy story and narration, and has even goofed up the casting. The director should not have tried to stretch and prove himself in every department.

Anup is just a couple of films old but, since he is planning to do this for a career, he needs to perfect his craft. For this, he needs the right kind of filmmaker-mentor and must avoid making the wrong choice when it comes to directors. Shalini’s presence does not help the film in any way.

Despite being a horror film (with a comedy track with actors Bullet Prakash and Pavan Kumar), the film simply fails to hold the viewer's interest. It lacks in good music and proper framing, and overall makes for a dull show. The only interesting ‘sleeping disorder’ I saw was among one in the audience as they used the film’s runtime for a good nap. Maybe I'd have been better off doing the same.
