Selvaraghavan: I was happy when I was poor

Director Selvaraghavan, in his recent interview with Cinema Express, says, "I don't have the happiness I had while I was in poverty." While talking about his film Nenjam Marappathillai, which features SJ Suryah as a pompous and rich industrialist, the director shared his take on money and happiness.

He says, "Dhanush, my two sisters, and I come from below the poverty line, and I can say this is my finding: There is no realtionship between money and happiness. You will realise that in a few years of getting rich. You can just be happy if you want to. I want to make a movie about it someday."

The Mayakkam Enna director also touched upon many other topics including script writing, his relationship with Yuvan Shankar Raja, and more. Watch the entire conversation here:

Nenjam Marappathillai is a supernatural horror film, starring SJ Suryah, Regina Cassandra, and Nandita Sweta in the lead roles. The film, which has opened to mixed responses, has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
