Devara to release in two parts

Throwing convention to the wind and taking everyone by surprise, the makers of Jr NTR-starrer Devara have decided that they will be releasing the film in two parts. The announcement was made by the film’s director, Koratala Siva, through video, where he explained the reasons behind the move in detail.

The director revealed that when Devara was narrated to Jr NTR, the film's team could not help but find their excitement and passion for the world of Devara progressively increase. However, when the film’s principal photography began, he mentioned that the canvas as well as its strong characters only expanded in scope and depth. The makers then felt that it would no longer be wise to go ahead with the plan they made in the first place, which meant they would have had to either edit the film mercilessly or compromise on their newly formed vision to stick to the originally scheduled plan of making one feature-length. Since the alternatives felt undesirable, the film's team felt it would be best to expand the story further and materialise the same into a duology.

It may be noted that the makers of the film have earlier announced that the film will be releasing on April 5, 2024. While the date is not changing, the film will now not be a standalone feature.

Devara Part 1 also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan as female lead and antagonist respectively. They will be making their Telugu debuts with Devara. Anirudh Ravichander will be scoring the music. The technical crew also consists of cinematographer Rathnavelu, editor A Sreekar Prasad with Sabu Cyril as the production designer.
