New poster of Samantha from Shaakunthalam out

The makers of Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Shaakuntalam released a new poster of Samantha, introducing her character as Shakuntala Devi. Written and directed by Gunasekhar, the film will be released in theatres on April 14. 

The poster features Samantha in majestic and elegant attire as the queen. The poster introduces her as 'Kavya Nayaki' or the heroine of the story. 

Shaakuntalam is an adaptation of Kalidasa's Sanskrit play Abhijnanashakuntalam, widely considered one of the finest works of literature to have emerged from the Indian canon. 

Shaakuntalam, marks Malayalam actor Dev Mohan's debut in Telugu. The film also stars Mohan Babu, Gautami, Madhoo, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta and Aditi Balan. 

Shaakuntalam is produced by Gunasekhar’s daughter, Neelima Guna and distributed by Dil Raju. Veteran music director Mani Sharma has composed the music for Shaakuntalam, with Sekhar V Joseph and Prawin Pudi handling cinematography and editing, respectively. 

Shaakuntalam will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
