Shiva Nirvana clarifies about Kushi

After speculations emerged on social media about Kushi being shelved, filmmaker Shiva Nirvana took to Twitter to offer clarity on the progress of the film. Earlier last week, some reports claimed that the director will be leaving the project and moving to a different film if the film's leading lady, Samantha, won't resume filming by March due to her medical issues.

On Monday, the filmmaker took to Twitter to share, "Kushi['s] regular shoot will start very soon. Everything is going to be beautiful." This puts an end to speculations about the project getting shelved.

The film which stars Vijay Deverakonda as the lead, went on floors in Kashmir in April last year. The filming was reportedly halted in June 2022 and the makers are yet to resume filming. Kushi was set to release on December 23, 2022, but it has been to an indefinite date. Kushi has music by Hridhayam-fame Hesham Abdul Wahab while Murali G, known for his collaborations with Tamil filmmaker Pa Ranjith on films like Kabali, Kaala, and Sarpatta Paramparai is the director of photography.

In addition to Kushi, Vijay has a film with Gowtam Tinnanuri coming up while Samantha will be next seen in Shaakunthalam, set to release on February 17.
