Golden Globes 2023: PM Modi calls Naatu Naatu's win a very special accomplishment

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes to team RRR as the celebrated dance number, Naatu Naatu, won the Best Original Song Award at the Golden Globe.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi noted that the win is "a very special accomplishment". He extended compliments to music composer MM Keeravani, choreographer Prem Rakshith, singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairavaa and lyricist Chandrabose. He also congratulated director SS Rajamouli, actors Jr NTR, Ram Charan and the entire team of RRR. "This prestigious honour has made every Indian very proud," he added.

It may be noted that the song bet nominees, including Taylor Swift’s Carolina from Where the Crawdads SingCiao Papa from Pinocchio, Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick and Rihanna's Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Naatu Naatu received appreciation for its electrifying beats and dance moves. Videos of the audience celebrating, cheering and dancing to the song during the film's screening in America have doing rounds for months now. Even earlier this week, during the film's screening at the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX, the song was received with great enthusiasm and many patrons were seen rushing to dance in front of the screen.

Produced by DVV Entertainment,  RRR is a fictional story that revolves around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR), and their fight against the British Raj.
