Actor Sudheer Babu, who was last seen in the Mohan Krishna Indraganti directorial Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali is returning to screen with Hunt, a heavy duty action film directed by Mahesh Surapaneni.

The movie’s central premise is set around Arjun, played by Sudheer Babu, who loses his memory in an accident and has his personhood truncated into Arjun A and Arjun B. Arjun B has no recollection of the former’s life but can access all of Arjun A’s skills. Arjun B is now tasked with dealing with the wrath of Arjun A’s foes, thus giving rise to the eponymous hunt. Hunt also stars Srikanth Meka, Bharath Niwas and Manjula Ghattamneni.

The makers of Hunt have released a video of the making of the film, which provides the viewers an understanding of how many of the film’s action sequences came into being. Sudheer Babu and Mahesh Surapaneni talk about the film’s action, highlighting the role of their key collaborators, the France-based stunt school Campus Univers Cascades(CVS). Some of the highlights of this film’s action include the decision to eschew CGI in favor of practical effects, especially for one key car chase sequence, shot with 5-6 cameras, which appears multiple times in the film. The stuntmen in the film have also done away with cables and beds, opting instead for realistic combat-heavy action sequences, intensively rehearsed before principal photography. The action sequences required the services of a specially trained cinematographer, who is a stuntman himself. This decision enabled the makers to achieve the finesse a bolt camera can achieve, with mere handheld cameras and manpower.

Hunt is produced by V Ananda Prasad under the Bhavya Creations banner. Ghibran is providing the music of the film, with Arul Vincent helming the camera and Prawin Pudi editing the film respectively. Hunt is all set to hit the theatres on January 26.
