Raj and DK on Samantha's Shaakuntalam: There could be no better ode to Kalidasa’s masterpiece

Following the release of Samantha's Shaakuntalam, filmmaker Raj and DK took to their social media handle to heap praises on the film.
They wrote, "Magical visuals, authentic storytelling. This beautiful film is a Samantha show all the way! There could be no better ode to Kalidasa’s masterpiece. Only you could have carried this huge epic on those slender shoulders! Kudos to the entire team! Must watch. Sam, the world knows that the last few months haven't been easy for you, yet you powered through with willpower, determination & grit. You're a total trooper. It may be noted that Samantha worked with Raj and DK in The Family Man season 2 and upcoming Indian adaptation of Citadel.
Written and directed by Gunasekhar, Shaakuntalam is a cinematic adaptation of Kalidasa's play Abhignyana Shakuntalam. The film stars Samantha in the titular role of Shakuntala, with Malayalam actor Dev Mohan playing the role of Prince Dushyanta. The film also features Mohan Babu, Ananya Nagalla, Gautami and Aditi Balan in supporting roles. Shaakuntalam is produced by Gunasekhar’s daughter, Neelima Guna and distributed by Dil Raju.
