RRR For Oscars: Producers elated over film representing Indian cinema on global stage

Following the announcement that RRR has been pushed for Oscars with the 'For your consideration' campaigns in all categories, the producers DVV banner extended their best wishes to the RRR family.

The statement read, "We are honoured that RRR's overwhelming success represented Indian Cinema on the global stage by creating milestones at the worldwide box-office and uniting film buffs across the world by transcending linguistic & cultural barriers. We're grateful to each & every one who loved our film and cheered us over the past few months. You made this journey possible. We applied to The Academy for Oscars consideration in general category. We wish our RRR family the best and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for making this possible. Here's to continuing to win hearts and entertain audiences worldwide."

It may be noted that the film has applied for Best Motion Picture, Director (SS Rajamouli), Best Actor (Jr NTR and Ram Charan), Best Supporting Actor (Ajay Devgn), Best Supporting Actress (Alia Bhatt) and Best Original Song (Naatu Naatu). The other categories also include Best Original Score, Film Editing, Sound, Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design, Makeup & Hairstyling, and Visual Effects.

Written by V Vijayendra Prasad, the epic action-drama featured Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles. RRR's ensemble star cast includes Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. RRR is a fictional story that revolves around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR), and their fight against the British Raj. The film opened to positive reviews and fared well at the box office.
