The release of Karthikeya 2, the upcoming mystery thriller starring Nikhil Siddhartha, has been pushed to the first week of August. The film was supposed to release on July 22.

Directed by filmmaker Chandoo Mondeti, this is a sequel to his 2014 Telugu supernatural mystery thriller Karthikeya. The commercially successful original evolved around a mysterious temple and how a doctor (Nikhil Siddartha) comes to be associated with it. Karthikeya 2 features Nikhil Siddharth, Anupama Parameswaran and Anupam Kher.

The actor took to his social media handle to announce the postponement of the film's release.

In an earlier conversation with Cinema Express, Chandoo said, "This film, which is a continuation of the first part, will also be about doctor Karthikeya. While the sequel will have a mix of old and new characters, Swathi Reddy will not return for this film. In the trailer, there is a dialogue that goes 'each and everything in the universe is related and interlinked' and this is the crux of the film.”

Meanwhile, Nikhil made his debut as a lead actor in Happy Days (2007). The actor, who was last seen in Arjun Suravaram (2019), has a handful of projects in the pipeline, including 18 Pages and Spy. Apart from Karthikeya, Chandoo has directed, Premam and Savyasachi.
