Actor Mahesh Babu on Thursday said that he has tested positive for coronavirus. The 46-year-old actor, who is currently recuperating from knee injury, shared the news in a post on Twitter, requesting those who came in contact with him to also get tested. 

"Despite taking all necessary precautions, I've tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms. I've isolated myself at home and have been following medical guidance. Request all those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested (sic)," Mahesh wrote on Twitter.
 

Mahesh had also urged those who haven't received the jab of Covid-19 vaccine to get inoculated immediately and follow safety norms. "I urge everyone who's not taken their vaccination to do so immediately, as it reduces the risk of severe symptoms and hospitalization," tweeted the Sarileru Neekevvaru actor.

On the work front, Mahesh Babu will next be seen in Sarkaru Vaari Paata. Directed by Parasuram (Bujji), the film also features Keerthy Suresh as the female lead. The makers are planning to release a special song teaser for Sankranti. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Sarkaru Vaari Paata is slated for a theatrical release on April 1.

Apart from this film, Mahesh will also be teaming up with SS Rajamouli in a forest adventure set in Africa.
