Acharya starring Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan is set to be released in theatres on April 29. The film, directed by Koratala Siva, initially had Kajal Aggarwal in a prominent role.

However, the actor could not shoot all her portions due to the pandemic. Following her pregnancy, Kajal requested the makers to complete her portions at the earliest. She subsequently opted out of the project owing to the delays.

Ever since the film's trailer's got released there have been lot of talks about Kajal's absence. Koratala Siva has now clarified about her role in the film. The director revealed that he chopped off her portions after he felt that it was inappropriate to cast the actress in a role with no clear ending. He added that Chiranjeevi's role in the film doesn't have a love interest. He discussed the same with Kajal, and she agreed to withdraw herself from the project

Koratala Siva explained, "Initially, Kajal's role was designed as a funny role, but after viewing the rushes, I thought it wasn't right to place a star actress in such a small-length role. She understood my concern and hence took it in a positive way. She will be seen in Laahe Laahe song though".
