Journalist-producer Mahesh S Koneru died of cardiac arrest in Visakhapatnam earlier today. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

Born in Vijayawada, Mahesh started his career as a reporter with a Tollywood film portal and later worked as a personal publicist to actors Jr NTR and Kalyan Ram Nandamuri. He also served as a public relations officer (PRO) for several films including Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion among others.

Jr NTR tweeted that Mahesh's demise has left him shocked and speechless.

Mahesh Koneru turned producer with Kalyan Ram and Nivetha Thomas's action thriller 118. He went on to produce several other films like Keerthy Suresh-starrer Miss India and Satyadev Kancharana's Thimmarusu. He also distributed Tamil actor Vijay's hit films like Bigil and Master in Telugu.

Kalyan Ram condoled the demise of Mahesh Koneru, calling it as shocking and a huge loss for the Telugu film industry.

"Absolutely shook and in disbelief. A man who is a friend, family and well wisher is no more. Mahesh Koneru garu has been our backbone no matter what. Huge loss to me personally and the whole industry. Strength to his near and dear ones (sic)," wrote Kalyan Ram Nandamuri.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Koneru's new film with actor Sundeep Kishan is currently under production.
