Makers of Ponniyin Selvan release glimpse of Pandyas

The makers of Ponniyin Selvan, the upcoming epic historical drama about the Chola dynasty, released a glimpse introducing the Pandya dynasty, who were rivals to the former. 

In a one-minute video released, it is revealed that Pandyan assassins infiltrated the Chola kingdom in order to avenge the death of their king Veera Pandiyan, who was beheaded on the battlefield by Chola prince Aditha Karikalan.

The video reveals characters of Kishore, Riyaz Khan, Vinay, Arjun Chidambaram, will be playing Ravi Dasan, Soman Sambavan, Devaralan, Varagunan respectively. 

Ponniyin Selvan, set to release on September 30, is helmed by Mani Ratnam. The film has music composed by AR Rahman, and features a star ensemble including Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, among others. The film is set to release in two parts and is based on Kalki's novel by the same name.
