The first single from Dhanush's Thiruchitrambalam, Thaai Kelavi is out. Written and sung by Dhanush, the peppy number is set amidst a temple festival backdrop, and features Dhanush, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Nithya Menen, and actor-director Bharathiraja. With music by Anirudh, Thiruchitrambalam marks the first collaboration between Dhanush and Anirudh after seven years. They last worked together in the 2015 film, Thanga Magan

Earlier, on Wednesday, the team made the announcement about the release of the first single by sharing a short video teaser featuring Anirudh and choreographer Sathish, who has choreographed the Thaai Kelavi number.

Thiruchitrambalam stars Nithya Menen, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Raashi Khanna as the female leads while Prakash Raj and Bharathi Raja will be seen in prominent roles.

Thiruchitrambalam marks Dhanush's first theatre release after Karnan, with his three other films, Jagame Thandhiram, Atrangi Re and Maaran opting for straight-to-streaming releases. Thiruchitrambalam will be hitting screens on August 18.

Meanwhile, Dhanush is awaiting the release of the Netflix film, The Gray Man, which will premiere on July 22. He also has Selvaraghavan's Naane Varuven, the Tamil-Telugu bilingual Vaathi/Sir, and an untitled project with Arun Matheswaran on his slate.
