The trailer of Regina Cassandra's Tamil-Telugu bilingual Soorpanagai has been released. Directed by Caarthick Raju of Ulkuthu-fame, the film is billed as a mystery thriller. It is titled Nene Naa in Telugu.

The story is centered around the unraveling of some mysterious skeletons and Regina plays an archaeologist, who assists in the investigation. The trailer has glimpses of period portions in which Regina is seen as a sword-wielding princess.

Earlier in a statement, the filmmaker Caarthick Raju said, "Soorpanagai will endow audiences with a novel theatrical experience for its visuals, mystery-driven plot with horror elements, and lots of humor as well.”

Soorpanagai also stars Akshara Gowda, Mansoor Ali Khan, Jaya Prakash, Jiva Ravi, Michael, Kaushik, Yogi, and Ravi Raja among others in supporting roles. The film has music by Sam CS, while Gokul Benoy has handled the cinematography. It is produced by Raj Shekar Varma through Apple Tree Studios.

Meanwhile, Regina has multiple projects in different stages of production — including Borrder co-starring Arun Vijay and the horror film, Karungaapiyam — in her upcoming slate of releases.
