Suriya's Kanguva is one of the most anticipated upcoming films. The film, which is directed by Siva, has been shooting for more than a year. After a long gap, Suriya has now shared an update saying that he has wrapped up shooting for his portions.

Taking to his X handle, Suriya wrote, "My last shot done for Kanguva! An entire unit filled with positivity! It’s the finishing of one and the beginning of many..! Thank you dearest director Siva and team for all the memories! Kanguva is huge and special can’t wait for you all to see it on screen!"

It was during the last leg of the shoot in November 2023 that Suriya was injured on set. The shoot of the film was temporarily halted after this incident. After almost a month's break, he returned to the sets.

Earlier, in an interview with a popular media channel, Gnanavelraja said Kanguva will be released in 38 languages with 3D and IMAX versions. He also assured that Kanguva will be the biggest release for a Tamil film and they have planned to release it in regions across the globe, including some never-before-released locations. The glimpse from the film was released back in July last year.

Mounted as a high-budget film, Kanguva features Disha Patani as the female lead, marking her debut in Tamil cinema. In an earlier conversation with CE, Siva said, "The film is set 1500 years ago and uses elements from ancient Tamil culture as well as other cultures from all over India. Kanguva is a fictional story set in an imaginary world with strong historical references and facts."

Kanguva will have cinematography by Siva's frequent collaborator, Vetri Palanisamy, production design by Milan and editing by Nishad Yusuf.

Backed by Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green and UV Creations, Kanguva is aimed at an early 2024 release. The film marks Suriya's 42nd outing.

Supreme Sundar will choreograph the action sequences, while Narayana has co-written the script. The dialogues are by Madhan Karky.
