Following producer Gnanavel Raja's allegations on director Ameer related to the production of Paruthiveeran, filmmaker-actor Samuthirakani who worked in the directorial team of the film has released a statement calling out Gnanevel Raja for spreading absurd and false information against Ameer.

In his statement addressed to Gnanavel Raja, Samuthirakani remarked, "I just watched the video where you spoke about Ameer anna. You are making a grave mistake, brother! What you are talking is evil and baseless. I am saying this because I was with the unit and Ameer anna during the making of the film and faced all the problems."

He further said,"Ameer anna made you a producer and Karthi a hero. But you have absolutely no loyalty towards him. Everytime a problem regarding this film popped up, I was reluctant to intervene and was hoping that issue would get resolved by the major parties, but this time I couldn't bear it further."

Samuthirkani also added that the film was forsaken by both Suriya and Gnanavel Raja, and it was Ameer who revived it with the money he borrowed from all his sources, risking his career and reputation. "The film was funded by over sixty people, but in the end you shamelessly took up the title of Producer. It is unbearable to see Karthi remain silent throughout this issue."

Aside from Samuthirakani, actor-director Sasikumar has also come in support of filmmaker Ameer stating that it was he who funded the last leg of the shooting and Gnanvel Raja's allegations are objectionable and untrue.
