Rohini Theatre management faces the heat for their hostile approach towards tribal family

A video of a tribal family being denied access to the screening of Silambarasan TR's latest release Pathu Thala, in Rohini Theatre, went viral earlier today. The video shows a bunch of youngsters trying to convince an indifferent ticket checker restricting the entry of the family into the premises, in vain. The issue blow up within hours and netizens began expressing their voice against the act of discrimination by the theatre management.

Following that, the social media team of the theatre posted a video of the family watching the film on the screen along with a statement explaining their stance. But things took an uglier turn as they had wrongly mentioned the 'U/A' certification of Patha Thala as the reason behind them denying entry for the family with four kids below the age of 12. As U/A stands for 'unrestricted public exhibition subject to parental guidance for children below the age of twelve' according to the Central Board of Film Certification, the disclaimer of Rohini theatre has got a large section of people infuriated.

In a video, shot by a regional channel after the screening of Pathu Thala, Neelaveni, the woman of the affected tribal family, shared that they are used to discrimination and are often restricted entry into theatres. She also mentioned that the management tore their tickets when they last tried to watch Vijay's Varisu
