Kamal Haasan to grace Ponniyin Selvan II audio and trailer launch

Earlier, we reported that the trailer and audio launch of Ponniyin Selvan II will be held on Wednesday. The latest update is that actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan will grace the program as the chief guest.  

Taking to their social media handle, the makers wrote, "A momentous occasion calls for a momentous guest! Join us in welcoming the one and only Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan sir to unveil the music and trailer of PS 2." (sic) The event will be held at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. 

Directed by Mani Ratnam, the first part of Ponniyin Selvan was received very well and minted big at the box office. The epic period film features Karthi, Trisha, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban. 

The film, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. Produced under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners, Ponniyin Selvan was shot by Ravi Varman, while AR Rahman composed the music. The technical crew includes editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani.
