Here's a sneak peek into creating Karthi's Vanthiyathevan look for Ponniyin Selvan
The film is directed by Mani Ratnam
Earlier, the makers of Ponniyin Selvan II released a video featuring the process of dressing up Kundavai, played by Trisha. On Friday, they released the video of creating the costume of Karthi's Vanthiyathevan.
In the video, Karthi said, "When I wear the costume, get to the location and complete a scene, it provides me with the grounding I need." The video also shows a glimpse of creating his costume and look from the scratch.
While his costumes are designed by Eka Lakhani, her hair and make-up were done by Vikram Gaikwad. Her jewellery was designed by Kishandas & Co.
Ponniyin Selvan II will hit the theatres on April 28. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the first part of the film was received very well and minted big at the box office. The epic period film also features Trisha, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban. The film, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. Produced under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners, Ponniyin Selvan was shot by Ravi Varman, while AR Rahman composed the music. The technical crew includes editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani.
