Jayam Ravi's Iraivan gets a release date

On Wednesday, the makers of Iraivan announced that the film is slated to hit theatres on August 25. Starring Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara in lead roles, the film is directed by Ahmed. The film is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Billed to be a commercial entertainer, Jayam Ravi is speculated to be playing a cop in the film. Iraivan will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Jayam Ravi has previously played cops in films like Thani Oruvan and Bogan.

Backed by Sudhan Sundaram and Jayaram G of Passion Studios, Iraivan has cinematography by Hari K Vedanth and editing by Manikanda Balaji.

Iraivan marks the second collaboration between Jayam Ravi and Ahmed after Jana Gana Mana, a big-budget spy thriller, which is yet to be completed. The film's shoot got stalled halfway due to the pandemic-induced restrictions. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the composer for Jana Gana Mana as well.

On the work front, Jayam Ravi, who was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan 2, is also filming for Siren along with Keerthy Suresh. Nayanthara, on the other hand, is gearing up for her big Bollywood debut with the Atlee directorial, Jawan, which stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.
