The star-studded audio launch event of Rajinikanth's upcoming big-budget actioner Jailer is currently underway. Directed by Nelson, the film is backed by Kalanidhi Maran's Sun Pictures.

In the event, Kalanidhi Maran, who has previously backed successful Rajinikanth projects like Enthiran and Annaatthe, said, "Right from my grandfather to my daughter, Superstar Rajinikanth has fans across all these generations. He enjoys the stardom and adulation that has spanned five generation of fans."

Talking about his expectations about the film, Kalanithi revealed that although he hasn't seen the film yet, the responses from those who have has been positive. In fact, the ace producer also shared the connect between Nelson and director Shankar. "After hearing the story, Superstar Rajinikanth reached out and expressed his trust on director Nelson. The last time he shared such express trust was on director Shankar for Enthiran."

Jailer marks Anirudh's fourth collaboration with Sun Pictures after Petta, Beast, and Thiruchitrambalam. It also marks the composer's fourth straight film with director Nelson after Kolamavu Kokila, Doctor, and Beast. "It is amazing to see the chemistry between Anirudh and Nelson. They both should act in a film together," said Kalanidhi, who gave a fitting answer to the raging debate about Rajinikanth's competition.

"As Thalapathy Vijay said in a previous event, there is indeed a competition for Superstar Rajinikanth... It is Rajinikanth himself," said the veteran producer.

Apart from Kalanidhi Maran, the event was graced by the cast and crew of Jailer, including Rajinikanth, Nelson, Shivarajkumar, and Anirudh.
