A glimpse of Kanguva, the upcoming Suriya-starrer film will be unveiled on Sunday, marking the occasion of the actor’s birthday, the makers announced on Thursday. The film is directed by Siva.

Disha Patani is said to play the female lead in this high-budget film, marking her debut in Tamil cinema.

“The film is set 1500 years ago, and uses elements from ancient Tamil culture as well as other cultures from all over India. Kanguva is a fictional story set in an imaginary world with strong historical references and facts," director Siva had earlier said to CE.

The film will have cinematography by Siva's frequent collaborator, Vetri Palanisamy, production design by Milan and editing by Nishad Yusuf. Supreme Sundar will be choreographing the action sequences, while Narayana has co-written the script. The dialogues are by Madhan Karky.

Set to be released in over ten languages, Kanguva is billed to be Suriya's most expensive film to date.

Backed by Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, Kanguva is aimed at an early 2024 release in 10 languages and 3D.  The film marks the actor’s 42nd outing. Kanguva is co-produced by UV Creations and Studio Green.
