Shankar lauds Madonne Ashwin's Maaveeran

On Saturday, filmmaker Shankar took to Twitter to shower praises on Sivakarthikeyan's latest outing at the theatres, Maaveeran. The director's daughter Aditi Shankar is the female lead of the film.

On the social media platform, he wrote, "Maaveeran, brilliantly written. Director Madonne Ashwin's ingenuity shows he is here to stay. Classy mass entertainer and fantastic sense of humour within the script. SK gave a commendable performance. Aditi did well with what she was given. Ms Saritha, Yogi Babu and Mysskin performed wonderfully! Actions scripted and choreographed remarkably. Plaudits to all those who worked hard for this film! Surely an enjoyable new experience with families."

Maaveeran hit theatres on July 14 and opened to favourable reviews. The sophomore film of National Award-winning filmmaker Madonne, Maaveeran also stars Aditi Shankar, Saritha, Mysskin, Yogi Babu, and Sunil.

Backed by Shanthi Talkies, the film was released in Telugu as Mahaveerudu. With cinematography by Vidhu Ayyanna, Maaveeran has music by Bharath Shankar and editing by Philomin Raj.
