Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors' Association recently put forward a slew of fresh demands regarding OTT streaming to film producers and the management of theatres to the Tamil Nadu government.

They noted that new films should go for OTT streaming only 8 weeks after the theatrical run. The advertisement about the film's OTT streaming should only be out after 4 weeks of theatrical release. The producers should only quote a maximum of 60% of the share. The exhibitors also asked for a portion of the share from the revenue generated in the OTT streaming of films that are primarily made for theatres.

That apart, in a petition to the government, the exhibitors requested permission to collect the theatre maintenance charge similar to other states and to conduct trade-related meetings in the theatre. They asked for a documenting of the reduction in the electricity tariff and the property tax for theatres and also requested to reconsider the previously submitted petition.
