Actor Vijay is currently working on Leo, which is all set to hit theatres on October 19. Meanwhile, he also has the Venkat Prabhu directorial in his pipeline, which is tentatively titled Thalapathy 68. Speculations are now rife that the actor is all set to take a break from his film career to concentrate on his entry into politics.

If the reports are to be believed, Vijay is said to take a three-year hiatus from acting, as he will focus on entering the political scene by the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections. The rumours have been making an appearance ever since Vijay felicitated school toppers from across Tamil Nadu, a few weeks ago.

Another faction of netizens, however, is also suggesting that the rumours are false and that he will be continuing his film career even after Thalapathy 68. Only Vijay's announcement regarding the matter would make the news official.

Meanwhile, Kalpathi S Aghoram's AGS Entertainment will be backing Thalapathy 68. The music for the yet-to-be-titled film is set to be composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is slated for release in 2024.

Vijay's Leo, on the other hand, is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and also stars Trisha, Arjun, Gautham Menon, Mysskin and Sanjay Dutt among others. It may be noted that Leo marks Vijay's 67th film and second collaboration with Lokesh after Master.
