TN govt allows theatres to screen one extra show of Thunivu and Varisu

The Tamil Nadu government had earlier banned the screening of 4 am and 5 am shows of Thunivu and Varisu from January 13 to 16. Now, another notice has been issued allowing the screening of one extra show for both films on January 12, 13, and 18. The announcement comes at the time when permission to screen an extra show on January 14 to 17 has been in existence. 

The Home (Cinema) Department, has permitted extra shows at the request of theatre owners across the district. The order has been issued on behalf of the Governor. 

Varisu, starring Vijay, is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, and Shaam among others. Ajith-starrer Thunivu directed by H Vinoth also features Manju Warrier, John Kokken, GM Sundar, and Samuthirakani among others.
