Rajinikanth to play a cop in TG Gnanavel's next?

Speculations were doing rounds that Rajinikanth will next team up with filmmaker TG Gnanavel.  The latest reports suggest that Rajinikanth will play a police officer in the film. The buzz also states that the film will be based on a true event. If speculations are true, this film is based on similar themes of Jai Bhim, and Lyca Productions will most probably be backing it. Meanwhile, the official confirmation on the same is awaited.

We earlier reported that Rajinikanth has signed a two-film deal with Lyca Productions. One among the two is Lal Salaam directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. While Rajinikanth will be playing an extended cameo in the film, Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth are playing the lead. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is currently shooting for Jailer. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, which earlier backed Annaatthe, Jailer has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is expected to hit the theatres in 2023 summer. Jailer also stars Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Kannada superstar Shivrajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Yogi Babu, and Vasanth Ravi in pivotal roles.
