Film fraternity members condole Vani Jayaram's death

Hours after it was confirmed that veteran singer Vani Jayaram passed away at the age of 78, many from the film fraternity condoled her death on social media.

It is reported that Vani slipped down in her bedroom, which caused a major injury on her forehead and subsequent death.

Condoling her death, actor Khusbu wrote on Twitter, “Terrible news coming in.. we have lost yet another gem.#VaniJayaram ji is no more amongst us. A voice that has enthralled us for many years has left us heartbroken. Her sweet and gentle nature was so evident in her voice. You will always be remembered amma. Om Shanti.”

Music composer D Imman, shared a picture of himself along with late singer and wrote how he could not accept the news. “Can’t accept the hard hitting reality that Legendary Singer Vani Jairam Amma is no more. We miss you Amma. Met her and recorded for my upcoming film “Malai” last August. And I’m shocked to know that she’s no more today. My prayers. May Her soul Rest in Peace,” he noted.

Actor Radikaa Sarathkumar recalled how she was playing Vani’s song just a day before. “I was playing her song and telling my husband how beautifully she was rendering the song in #KVishwanath sirs film.I am so shocked,” she wrote.

One of the most celebrated singers in India, Vani Jairam won the National Award thrice for Apoorva Raagangal, Sankarabharanam, and Swathi Kiranam. She also received State awards from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Odisha.
