Happy Birthday Rajinikanth: From Kamal Haasan to Dhanush, Kollywood celebrities wish superstar

Wishes from across sectors have been pouring for actor Rajinikanth, who is celebrating his 73rd birthday today. The actor had an eventful year in 2023 with the blockbuster Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar which earned more than Rs 650 crores worldwide.

Rajinikanth's longtime friend and actor Kamal Haasan wished him and said, "Happy birthday to my dear friend Superstar Rajinikanth. I sincerely wish you to live a happy life reaping success today and forever."   

Actor Dhanush was among the initial few big names to wish him on his birthday. He stated, "Happy birthday Thalaiva Rajinikanth."

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander, who worked in his recent film Jailer, said, "Happy birthday to the emperor Thalaiva Rajinikanth."

Actor Khushbu, who has worked with Rajini in films like Mannan, Annamalai, Pandian and the recent Annatthe, shared a photo with the actor and said, "A very happy birthday to the one and only SUPERSTAR of our nation, Shri Rajinikanth avl. As you celebrate your yet another glorious year, we celebrate you Sir. Have a superlatively fantabulous birthday."

Raghava Lawrence, who is an ardent fan of Rajinikanth, prayed for his long life and shared a click of him hugging the actor. "Happy birthday Thalaiva! I pray Ragavendra swamy for your good health! May you live a long long life! Guruve saranam," he wrote on X.

On his birthday, fans thronged outside Rajinikanth's Chennai house in large numbers to catch a glimpse of him on his birthday. In a viral video, they were seen waiting eagerly with bated breath to catch a glimpse of the superstar. His family, including his wife Latha, daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya Rajinikanth, and other family members, are marked the occasion with a festive cake-cutting ceremony.

Rajinikanth, who was last seen in Jailer, will be seen next in Lal Salaam in an extended cameo role as Moideen Bhai. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the film also stars Senthil, Jeevitha, Thambi Ramaiah, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, Thangadurai, and KS Ravikumar among others. The film is set for Pongal 2024 release.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is actively working with Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel in his next film. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Rithika Singh and VJ Rakshan.
