Sasikumar thanks Rajinikanth for appreciating Ayothi
The film is the directorial debut of Manthira Moorthy
Earlier on Tuesday, actor Rajinikanth took to Twitter to laud Sasikumar's latest outing Ayothi. The actor who is currently filming for Jailer, took to social media to say, "After a long time, my friend Sasikumar got to do a message-oriented film. The director of the film, Manthira Moorthy, proved himself to be a fine filmmaker. I convey my best wishes to the makers of Ayothi.”
Responding to the compliments, actor-director Sasikumar said, "I am happy you referred to me as a friend rather than as an actor. Your appreciation for a film like Ayothi will be motivating for other good films. Thank you so much sir." It is to be noted that Sasikumar has starred along with Rajinikanth in Karthik Subbaraj's 2019 film, Petta.

Ayothi marks the directorial debut of Manthira Moorthy. Apart from Sasikumar, Ayothi also stars Yashpal Sharma, Preethi Asrani, and Pugazh, among others. The film is an emotional thriller about the religious divide among people which prevents them from helping each other.
The technical crew of Ayothi consists of Madheshmanickam as the cinematographer, and San Lokesh handling the edits. The music is composed by NR Ragunanthan and G Durai Raj is the art director. The film is bankrolled by R Ravindran's Trident Arts banner.
