Dhanush's Naane Varuvean has been censored with a U/A certifiate. With the final hurdle before release done, the film is now confirmed to hit screens on September 29, a day ahead of the much-hyped Ponniyin Selvan 1.

Naane Varuvean is directed by Selvaraghavan, and marks his first collaboration with his brother Dhanush since their 2011 film Mayakkam Enna. The upcoming film, billed as a psychological thriller drama, has Dhanush portraying dual characters. It also marks the first time the brothers will appear onscreen together. Apart from them, the film also stars Indhuja, Elli AvrRam, Prabhu, and Yogi Babu, among others.

Backed by Kalaippuli S Thanu, Naane Varuvean has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is marking his reunion with the Selvaraghavan-Dhanush combo after 16 years.

Naane Varuvean is also getting released in Telugu as Nene Vasthunna. Geetha Arts will be presenting the film in Telugu.
