Cobra director Ajay Gnanamuthu responds to criticism

Days after the release of his third film, Cobra, director Ajay Gnanamuthu took to Instagram to respond to the criticism that is coming the film's way. The film, which was originally 183 minutes long, has been re-edited post of the release after its long runtime was criticised.

While interacting with his Instagram followers during a Q&A session, Ajay responded to negative feedback about certain weaker areas of the film. Responding to a follower who was disappointed with the film's climax, Ajay wrote, "It possible to write a climax where hero smartly escapes and we show him in a foreign location freely roaming around with mass music and all... but ethically it's not right to free that character for the kind of crimes he had done! Right?"

Likewise, the filmmaker apologised to a follower who called the film's screenplay "confusing". He wrote, "Firstly sorry that you felt confused. But as an audience, I have always liked watching mind-bending films and genuinely tried it this time. If possible, please try watching it again. Hopefully, you like it. "

In a similar vein, replying to a follower who expressed disappointment in the film, the filmmaker wrote, "Sorry that you are disappointed. Hopefully will satisfy you the next time. But try to give Cobra another shot before concluding."

The film also features Irfan Pathan, Srinidhi Shetty and Mirnalini Ravi in prominent roles. With music by AR Rahman, the film was produced by Seven Screen Studio.
