Karthi's Viruman gets a release date

The film marks the second collaboration between Muthaiya and Karthi after their 2015 hit, Komban

The makers of Kathi's next, Viruman, directed by Muthaiya have announced the release date. The rural action entertainer will be released in theatres on August 31, coinciding with Vinayagar Chathurthi. The announcement was made along with a new poster featuring Karthi in a festival atmosphere.

Produced by Suriya and Jyotika through 2D Entertainment, the film marks the second collaboration between Muthaiya and Karthi after their 2015 hit, Komban. Viruman marks the acting debut of Shankar's daughter Aditi. The film also stars Raj Kiran, Soori and Prakash Raj in prominent roles. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Selvakumar SK.

In addition to Viruman, Karthi has PS Mithran's Sardar and Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan dulogy coming up. He was last seen in Sulthan.
