The audio launch of Vikram is underway in Chennai now, and major members of the cast and crew of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead, are in attendance. Apart from the team of Vikram, the event is also graced by some of the biggest names of Tamil cinema, including Silambarasan TR, Pa Ranjith, and Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Ranjith, who was one of the first people to speak on stage at the event, said, "I wish to make a Madurai-based film with Kamal Haasan in the lead. I am soon going to make a film with him, and Virumaandi is my personal favourite."

While Madurai films are generally known for their rural setup with the actors donning the traditional veshti-sattai, Ranjith said, "It is not just the veshti-sattai Kamal that I'd be writing, it could also be a suited up version."

The Sarpatta filmmaker also hinted at his wish to direct Silambarasan in a film.

The film, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Narain and Kalidas Jayaram, will hit the screens on June 3.
