We had previously reported that Vijay is teaming up with director Vamshi Paidipally for the actor's 66th film. It's now known that veteran actor Prabhu has joined the list of cast members. Interestingly, the film also stars actor Sarath Kumar in an important role.

While Prabhu and Vijay had earlier shared screen space in Puli (2015) and Theri (2016), Prabhu and Sarath Kumar had previously teamed up in films like Urudhi Mozhi (1990) and Raja Kaiya Vacha (1990). Interestingly, the two veteran actors will also be a part of Mani Ratnam's upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan

Starring Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, Thalapathy 66 has Thaman as the music director, Kharthik Palani as the cinematographer and Praveen KL as the editor. The film's shoot is currently progressing in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Prabhu, who was recently seen in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha, has films like Laththi and Naane Varuven in various stages of production.
