Official: Sarath Kumar joins the cast of Vijay's Thalapathy 66

It has also been confirmed that the film will be hitting screens for Pongal 2023

It has been announced that Sarath Kumar will also be part of Vijay's upcoming film with Vamshi Paidipally. Sri Venkateswara Creations, the banner backing the film, made the official announcement through their Twitter handle. It has also been confirmed that the film will be hitting screens for Pongal 2023.

Tentatively titled Thalapathy 66, the film is billed as a family-based entertainer. Rashmika Mandanna is essaying the female lead's role. Shaam is also said to be part of the cast but the makers are yet to confirm it.

Thalapathy 66 has Thaman as the music director, Karthuk Palani as the cinematographer and Praveen KL as the editor. The film's shoot is currently progressing in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Sarath Kumar has multiple projects lined up. He is part of Vijay Antony-Vijay Milton's Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, debutant Thirumalai Baluchamy's Samaran, Paramporul co-starring Amitash Pradhan and Kashmira Pardeshi, The Smile Man directed by Syam and Praveen, and a murder mystery starring Gautham Karthik as the lead.
