Chekka Chivantha Vaanam pair to star in Thalapathy 66

Actors Prakash Raj and Dr Jayasudha Kapoor are also a part of Vijay-starrer Thalapathy 66, directed by Vamshi Paidipally

We had previously reported that Vijay is teaming up with director Vamshi Paidipally for the actor's 66th film and it stars veteran actors such as Prabhu and Sarath Kumar. Recent announcements from the makers revealed that the film also stars Prakash Raj and Dr Jayasudha Kapoor.

The actor has starred in multiple films alongside Vijay such as Nerrukku Ner, Ghilli, Sivakasi, Aathi, Pokkiri and Villu. Interestingly, Prakash Raj made his Tamil film debut alongside Prabhu in 1994's Duet and he went on to work with him in films such as Vasool Raja MBBS, Ponnar Shankar and Malai Malai. He has also done numerous films with Sarath Kumar like Ayya, Chennaiyil Oru Naal, Thalaimagan, Rishi, Dosth and Rajasthan. Incidentally, all the three veteran actors are also a part of Mani Ratnam's upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan.

Starring Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, Thalapathy 66 has Thaman as the music director, Kharthik Palani as the cinematographer and Praveen KL as the editor. The film's shoot is currently progressing in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Prakash Raj, who was recently seen in K.G.F: Chapter 2, has films like Thiruchitrambalam and Viruman in different stages of production.
