We had previously reported that Nayanthara is teaming up with the production banner Dream Warrior Pictures for a project. It's now known that the film is titled 02. Helmed by debutant director GS Viknesh, the film will be a direct OTT release and will stream on Disney+ Hotstar. 

Said to be a thriller, the film's title was released earlier today via a video. According to a statement released by the makers, the film is about "a mother and her eight-month son who are stuck inside a bus post an accident. As the mother of a kid with breathing issues, she would be in possession of an oxygen cylinder and how she protects the much-needed cylinder from fellow passengers who would try to nab it from her forms the story."

The makers have decided to shoot the film in hilly regions in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. with Ritwik playing Nayanthara's son, the rest of the cast includes Leena, RNR Manohar and Aadukalam Murugadoss. Malayalam actor Jaffar Idukki, known for films like Jallikattu and Anjaam Pathiraa, will also be a part of O2. With music by Vishal Chandrasekhar, the film's editing will be done by Sarpatta Parambarai-fame Selva RK. Thamizh A Azhagan, who recently shot Manmatha Leelai, is the cinematographer of O2
